After the release of SIXKILL, the last Parker penned Spenser novel, I had resigned myself to not getting my yearly Spenser fix anymore. I was a bit intrigued when I found out that Ace Atkins had been tapped by Parker's family to continue the books. I've read Atkins before and found his Nick Travers books to be quite good when I read them some years back. I wasn't so sure how he'd do with Spenser, tho. I needn't have worried. He obviously did his homework and nailed the characters, from Spenser & Hawk, to Quirk, Belson and the dreaded Susan. The snappy repartee' was there, basically the whole package. This was a pleasure to read and I'll be in line for the next one, same time next year! RECOMMEND!
