After I started this one I found out J.J. Cook is actually Joyce & Jim Lavene. Had I known that prior to buying the book I probably wouldn't have given it a shot as I haven't cared for most of the books that I've tried to read by them. This book is testament to why it might be a good idea for authors to use different names for different series, as I would have missed out on a good read had I known who actually wrote the book! This was a good story with some great characters, not the least of which being Eric, the ghost! I didn't have this one figured out until just about the end and I'm looking forward to the next in the series. Probably a 3.5 star read, but since you can't do 1/2 stars I'm going 4. (I'm also thinking about trying the brownie recipe with the hot peppers!) RECOMMEND!
