What You Want Is in the Limo: On the Road with Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and the Who in 1973, the Year the Sixties Died and the Modern Rock Star Was Born

What You Want Is in the Limo: On the Road with Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and the Who in 1973, the Year the Sixties Died and the Modern Rock Star Was Born - Michael Walker This is really a 2.5 star read for me, but going to 3 because what the hell, it's about 1973. I wanted to love it, but I just really didn't. I remember some friends of mine going to Cincinnati to see Alice Cooper in 1973 and they loved it. I was never much of an Alice fan. I guess I didn't get them.....or something. Could take or leave The Who for the most part, but Zeppelin?? LOVED them......and my mom HATED them! Didn't really learn much about Zeppelin that I didn't already know from all the other books I've read about them. I did learn that Townshend was the asshole I always thought he was back in the day, and Alice's boozing has always been legendary. It's a wonder the man's liver still functions! Anyway, if you don't know much about any of these bands you could do worse for a read, but if you're pretty familiar with any of their histories already you're not going to get much from this one.
